Electronic Proofs Of Claim

1) Proofs of Claim filed by a debtor or trustee on behalf of a creditor are to be eFiled through the eCalWebFiling system. See training module How to file a proof of claim filed by debtor/trustee on behalf of a creditor.

2) The ELECTRONIC PROOF OF CLAIM application is intended for use by creditors and others who infrequently have to file proofs of claim. No user ID or password is required to use the Electronic Proof of Claim application. Using the application, the user must select or add the creditor’s name and address, the amount of the claim, the basis for the claim, and other information relating to the priority of the claim and the identity of the user filing the claim. The Electronic Proof of Claim application uses this information to create a completed B10 proof of claim form for the user. Only the information entered will appear on the B10 proof of claim form created by the Electronic Proof of Claim application. THE ELECTRONIC PROOF OF CLAIM APPLICATION CAN NOT BE USED TO SUBMIT A B10 PROOF OF CLAIM FORM COMPLETED OUTSIDE THE APPLICATION. LIKEWISE, B10 PROOF OF CLAIM FORMS COMPLETED OUTSIDE THE ELECTRONIC PROOF OF CLAIM APPLICATION SHOULD NOT BE SUBMITTED AS ATTACHMENTS TO THE B10 PROOF OF CLAIM FORM CREATED BY THE APPLICATION.

3) CM/ECF is intended for use by registered electronic filers who wish to file proofs of claim that they have created themselves to be uploaded to our claims register. While filing a proof of claim in CM/ECF, the user must search for the creditor on whose behalf the claim is being filed, select or add the creditor to CM/ECF, and enter the amount(s) claimed. A completed B10 proof of claim form in PDF format must be submitted when using CM/ECF. CM/ECF will not create a completed B10 proof of claim for you. To electronically file B10 forms in PDF format, you must use CM/ECF. Instructions for obtaining a CM/ECF user ID and password and filing claims using CM/ECF are located on the court’s Training Modules page.
